Black Ergotron Carts - 1st Year
These Chromebooks should all charge at once. During the first few minutes of the cart being plugged in, it check the 6 "sections" to make sure everything is working correctly. If only one of the numbers is lit and flashing on top of the cart, it is still in the check phase. Please wait a while longer and check to see if all Chromebooks are charging. If not, it's possible that a plug came loose in the back and someone from IT will need to open up the cart to investigate.
Small White with Blue Top JAR Carts - 2nd Year
These Chromebooks should also all charge at once. This one checks the 4 outlets it has internally, but checks much quicker than the Ergotron carts. The numbers on the front of the power unit should be amber or green. If some Chromebooks are not charging, you can quickly look through the front to the back to see if the power strips are turned on. There is no back panel for this cart, so everything has to be done through the front. If you can't see that anything looks wrong, it's likely that a power strip has come loose from the power unit on top of the cart and requires someone from IT to come and plug them back in.
Rounded White Anywhere Cart - 3rd Year
These Chromebooks charge on a timer. Every 15 or so minutes, the cart will switch from one half of the cart to the other half. Before reporting that a cart is not charging some Chromebooks, leave the cart plugged in overnight and check if any Chromebooks did not charge. If you notice that half of the cart is not charging as expected, then it's likely that a plug came loose in the back and someone from IT will need to come and plug it back in.
Squared Black Anywhere Cart - 4th Year
These Chromebooks charge all at once, but only half per plug. Ensure that both power cables for the cart are plugged in to charge all the Chromebooks. These do not have a timer or any special systems in place. Just make sure that both plugs are plugged in and the cart should charge without issue.
